To kick off this summer-long event, a private VIP party was held at the KARE Design Toronto showroom on Thursday, June 6th, 2019. The VIP party was also an excellent opportunity to view KARE’s newest collection of furnishings and interior design accessories. Many of the guests were admiring the new pieces such as the fabulous Purple Rain suede armchair and the awesome metal top hat wine bucket.
The entire VIP party was a small and informal affair with four different wines to sample as well as a great selection of hors d’ oeuvres. The four wines were the following: Relax Bubbles; Deinhard Riesling Dry; Loosen Up Riesling; and Black Forest Cuveé Noir.

The wines were served from the lightest white (Relax Bubbles) to the red varietal (Black Forest Cuveé Noir). The Relax Bubbles was a medium-bodied sparkling wine that had delightful pineapple and mineral notes with a clean and refreshing mouthfeel. Next was the Deinhard Riesling Dry. Germany is a well-known producer of Riesling, and this particular wine tastes like your traditional Riesling with its slightly oily mouthfeel, pear notes, and crisp acidity. The Loosen Up Riesling had this lovely pale gold colour with sweet melon and peach notes. What made this wine stand out from the rest was the racing acidity that just sneaks up on the palate. The last wine was the Black Forest Cuvée Noir, a smooth medium-bodied red wine blend with tons of cherry and plum notes. It tasted like a blend between a Pinot Noir and Merlot. These wines can be found at the LCBO and at affordable prices.
