THE PANTONE COLOR TREND 2016: ROSE AND LIGHT BLUE

17. February 2016

We love the new Pantone color trend for 2016 and have assembled the best products for the apartment in feather-light blue and rose. But do not feel limited – these pieces may also be combined with other colors. For example, with deep green, amethyst, khaki, silver and light gray.

Delicate blue and light pink? This combination reminds us of something! Is anyone not thinking of a nascent parents couple who are considering, in what color to paint the nursery? For generations blue and pink colors were a symbol for the sex of the child. Now the fusion of these two colors stands for the dissolution of gender roles. And it refers to the completion of dusty clichés, because men can definitely wear pink. Well, at least some.

THIS IS WHERE THE COLOR TREND 2016 IS CHOSEN:

Rose Quartz (PANTONE 13-1520) and Serenity (15-3919)

It seems as if Pantone make a plea for harmony and friendship. The choice of colors is not a spontaneous decision: It follows a long analysis of trends and is based on the current color perception, social changes and the ways of thinking of the spirit of the time. While according to Pantone the delicate rose represents compassion and warmth, the weightless blue stands for tranquility and serenity. Together, these colors are combined to a mirror of our yearnings for security and peace.

Originally the American company Pantone produced color cards for the fashion and beauty industries. Later, the internationally known company developed the most widely used system for cataloging colors. This simplified a lot – because everyone perceives colors differently and would describe colors therefore in different ways and also imagine different colors based on these descriptions. In the Pantone Matching System, colors don’t need not be described anymore because they can be accurately determined by using the respective catalog numbers.

The KARE brand symbolizes furnishing ideas which are unique, non-conformist and authentic.
