KARE TRENDS 2018

12. January 2018

KARE traditionally begins year with the presentation of trends at the international furniture exhibitions: IMM Cologne (15.01-21.01.2018), Maison&Objet Paris (19.01-23.01.2018) and Ambiente Frankfurt (09.02-13.02.2018).

Country Loft – country house styling comes to the city. The future is urban. More and more people are making their home in cities, and living lives which are becoming ever faster and packed with digital media. At the same time there is a growing nostalgia for country living, with modern nomads heading for natural surroundings in caravans or booking a digital detox holiday. Kicking the digital habit and slowing down is also
possible at home – thanks to “Country Loft”. This is the name given by Kare’s creative spirits to their new furnishing world, which gives the country house style a new urban touch and freshens it up with a portion of glamour – “country house reloaded”, you might say. Off-white
colours provide a meditative background, hide rugs are an essential, and gold provides glittering contrasts. Because nature itself shows how beautiful imperfection can be, unique items of handcrafted furniture form the centre piece of this furnishing theme. Made by craftsmen from recycled wood in a process taking days, they bear witness to old traditions of manual craftsmanship which tell their own story.

Blush and Blue – digital detox with colourful furniture.
A sideboard in baby pink, a bright yellow cupboard in the hallway, a velvet sofa in midnight blue – with their “Blush” and “Blue Elegance” furnishing trends, the interior design experts at Kare have created a vitalising colour therapy for the homes of stressed-out big city dwellers.
The result is an interior seen through rose-coloured spectacles after a hard day’s work: Blush is a playful, cheerful furnishing theme displayed against a background of frosted pink. Cleanlined white furniture gives a youthful impression, while warmth is generated by solid-wood
furniture in darker shades. The look is individualised by colourful stand-alone items of furniture, witty pictures and floral designs, for example as decoration on a cupboard or the cover of a wingback chair. Blue combines with lots of velvet and shimmering metallic shades
in order to highlight the effects of dark tones of blue, suggesting wide horizons, calm and the endless ocean.

Retro chic arouses feelings of nostalgia.
Tall cupboards in the art deco design meet voluminous leather armchairs in the Hollywood style of the Forties, together with Sixties mirrors artfully arranged by the Kare stylists. The”Offline” furnishing world represents retro styling in a new combination.
