5. January 2022
If 2021 was the year of the home, 2022 is shaping up to be the year to redecorate it. And for many this year, making “home” somewhere that you feel safe and comfortable is going to be top priority.
This year we will see a surge in greener living and if you’re looking to live more sustainably without compromising on luxury, then 2022 have got you covered. Expect to see more stylish and natural materials. There is a strong focus on thoughtfully handcrafted pieces that are made with renewable materials such as wood, rattan, metal, glass and stone. It will be no surprise to see the combination of several textures in one item for an even greater connection to the outdoors.
The focus will also be on switching up our living spaces to reflect more boutique style interiors. Mixing modern contemporary shapes and plush materials to create eye-catching statements for your space will be easy to achieve this season. With a selection of unique and bold designs, the most popular by far will be furniture with rounded soft edges in cosy soft-touch fabrics such as velvet.
Another growing trend to look out for is our “work-from-home” spaces. The way we use our homes has changed, so getting a productive work environment set up is becoming very important. Minimalism is huge for home office spaces and so are comfortable upholstered swivel chairs and electronic hight-adjustable desks in sleek modern designs. Think mixed metals, natural wood tones and geometric shapes paired with a neutral colour scheme. When it comes to function and form in 2022, we are definitely seeing more ergonomic designs in an array of stylish colours and accents.
