HOMESTORY – Marlena and Sebastian’s dream loft in Munich

The power couple Marlena and Sebastian invited us to their dream loft apartment in the city centre of Munich. As globetrotters and after several stays abroad in London and New York, they have now returned home. With the help of the KARE interior design team, they fulfilled their dream of a modern and cozy flat.
Marlena: “My absolute favourite piece here in the flat is the sofa. We decided on a really big 3 by 3 metre sofa. It’s a bit big for me and Sebastian, but we love to invite friends over. For example, we recently celebrated the European Championship here with lots of good friends!”
THE DINING/BRUNCH AREA
The large table in the dining area is another centre piece in the flat. This is where Marlena and Sebastian like to start an extensive dinner with friends at the weekend or just have a cozy brunch for two. With colourful accents and small accessories, the table also becomes a real eye-catcher.

THE BEDROOM
Jungle exoticism, but glamorous please! The jungle look in their flat is also reflected in the bedroom. With elements such as a special wallpaper, the eye-catching sun mirrors and other small gold accents, Marlena and Sebastian emphasise the boutique hotel flair of their bedroom. Gold and dark green are a noble colour combination for rooms that radiate calm and luxury. So here they find a combination of trendy leaf prints and sun motifs during the day, and at night the two look up at the starry sky above Munich.

THE OFFICE
“This is what the ideal work-life balance looks like for me: I have set up a small sitting area here in the office. Here I can receive guests or just read a book after work.”
3D PLANNING
“KARE’s furnishing planners allowed us to see the finished flat in advance, and all in 3D! Thanks to such a rendering, we could imagine the later result much better and also make small changes before ordering. It was a great experience, very cool to simply furnish our flat digitally and also to try out different looks before we decided on the final choice.“
